Southeastern Virginia has the largest concentration of US military in the world. The Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach proudly preserves the history of aviation with a huge collection of WW1 and WW2 aircraft and other vehicles. Over this Columbus Day weekend and just a short distance from the rally site, these vintage planes will take to the skies during the 2011 WW1 Biplanes and Tri-Planes Air Show. The Beemers and Biplanes Rally will take place at the North Landing Beach Campground in Virginia Beach and will include day rides into the country and beach settings of Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina, not to mention a trip to the Air Show for those interested in stepping back in time before the skies of Virginia were filled with supersonic jets. A charity ride for the Wounded Warrior Project will take place Saturday.
