The R 1300 GS is known for having a heavy lean angle. Pushing the heavy GS off its factory side stand can be a heave, especially for shorter riders. BMW knows that the GS will occasionally be loaded down with luggage and gear. Because of this BMW designed the GS with lots of lean angle to compensate for when the bike is weighted down and the suspension sinks changing the lean.
