Material: Solid aluminum
Adjustment Range: Stock length to 2 in (50 mm) longer
Adjustment Increments: 0.25 in (6 mm)
Foot Design: Enlarged convex, serrated, integrated rubber bumper
Kick Peg: Removable
Weight: 2.2 lbs
Dimensions: 11 × 4 × 3 in

BMW R1300 GS; fits BMW side stand numbers 4653 5A8DC01 (Adaptive GSA) and 4653 1638149 (Standard GSA & Sports Suspension GS); compatible with factory side stand switch

Small possibility the foot may contact the center stand in the stowed position at the tallest setting, depending on trim/suspension combination (caution, not a hard exclusion)

The R1300 GS leans hard on its stock side stand. BMW designed it that way assuming you'd be loaded up. But riding light, or parking on uneven ground at a rest stop, that lean becomes a problem.
The foot is enlarged and serrated so it bites into dirt, gravel, and uneven ground without sinking.

This stand lets you set the lean angle you actually need. Adjust in 0.25-inch increments from stock length up to 2 inches longer, then leave it there. The enlarged serrated foot gives stable ground contact on dirt, gravel, and soft surfaces. The rubber bumper is built into the stand — no small loose piece to lose, no clanking.

Installation uses your stock hardware and spring. The included spring puller makes the job straightforward. Your factory side stand switch stays fully compatible.

Small possibility the foot may contact the center stand in the stowed position at the tallest setting, depending on trim/suspension combination (caution, not a hard exclusion)

The R 1300 GS leans hard on its factory side stand. That works when the bike is fully loaded, but it makes standing the bike up a real effort — especially when riding light. This stand lets you set the lean angle yourself, adjusting in 0.25 inch increments from stock length up to 2 inches longer.

The foot is enlarged and serrated so it bites into dirt, gravel, and uneven ground without sinking. The rubber bumper is integrated into the stand body, which removes the small stock piece that rattles loose and causes the familiar clanking sound. A removable kick-down peg makes deployment straightforward — no awkward reaching past luggage.

Installation uses your stock hardware and spring. A spring puller is included. The stand is compatible with your factory side stand switch. Check all pre-assembled fasteners before installation, as Loctite may not be applied from production.

Fits BMW side stand numbers 4653 1636279 (Standard GS) and 4653 1638616 (Adaptive height GS and Comfort lowered GSA). See the fitment list before selecting.

Nothing else surpasses Altrider design and material selection. Have been a customer for ten years.. fit, forget..go anywhere.

Game changer! OEM stand was a very bad design and too short resulting in a very steep learning curve angle. The Altrider side stand solves this. Easy install and fit perfectly. Also mated up well with the side stand switch guard.

Nice product - well made and finished and easy to install.

The only challenge was the length. I originally set the length to second to longest, but it did not clear the center stand arm when folded and bound up on that arm when folded. The interference removed the coatings from the center stand arm, so that needed touch up. I reduced the length one setting and it clears fine.

This part reduced my stock lean angle of 24° to 14°. Much easier to mount and stand up, and still plenty of pressure to keep it planted. Also like the enlarged foot.

Must have upgrade for 1300GSA. Prior to install I had to always put the bike on the center stand to do a complete fuel fill up. In addition after parking with with the stock side stand, leaning the bike back to vertical with luggage was a major chore. Installing the Adjustable Side stand has made a huge difference in the ease of parking, fueling, and standing the bike up.

Up to now I am very satisfied with the lean angle, but I still have to try it with luggage on the bike

The stand certainly removes the problem of the BMW leaning over to far. It is well made but I have one concern. The two steel countersunk screws that secure the two parts together are very short, only securing into one side of the upper part. It looks as if the entire loading is supported by the shear point of the screws onto the chamfered slot, though this may be assisted by the low groove that is used to set the hight? This will be a concern over time/use against the weight of the bike. Otherwise the item is excellent quality.

Hi Arthur, thanks for the write-up and for noticing the detail on how the two parts secure together. We put this design through structural testing to confirm it holds up under the bike's load over time, so you can ride with confidence there.

If you'd ever like to talk through the engineering in more detail, happy to walk you through it, feel free to call us at (206) 922-3618.

My new kickstand works great! there was a small conflict with the center stand, but it works great. I added extra pads to begin with but needed more correction and this stand does the trick. Thank you

'26 GSA Triple Black. It's a nice kickstand and does what it says. A few observations:

First, when lengthened to the very middle position (which was my preferred position), the foot will touch the center stand when both are up, and the bike is in the riding stance. It's probably not an issue, but I didn't like it, so I shortened it by one position, and now it clears.

Also, the angle isn't quite right, so on a hard surface, the foot doesn't sit completely flush (it tends to sit more out on the end than on the inside). I've never had a kickstand with a big foot, so maybe this is normal.

For my application, it does sit slight more upright and it does have the "big foot" already as part of the unit, so those are both improvements over stock. However, with where I have to adjust the height so it doesn't touch the center stand, it's marginal. I'll likely keep it since it's already installed.

Glad the stand is treating you well overall. On the foot contact point: it's actually convex by design, so on uneven surfaces there's always a solid contact point rather than trying to sit fully flush. That said, we'd like to make sure you've got the right part number for your setup given the center stand clearance you're seeing. Please give us a call at (206) 922-3618, happy to help confirm fitment.
