While putting a bike down at high speed is never a good thing, sometimes it can have a silver lining. AltRider’s own BMW R 1200 GSW was recently high-sided on a hard-pack gravel logging road at approximately 65 mph. The bike hit the ground going around 50 mph. Luckily the ... MORE

Let's ride the back roads of Redmond, Fall City, maybe a little Monroe, then loop back into Redmond. Shake up those Eastsiders with some pipe rappin', throttle twistin' and end with a tequila shootin'.
That being said, yes we will end at the Matador, a tequila bar and grill. Know your limits! This is not "see how much tequila you can drink and ride home." we WILL take your keys and leave you. No drunks riding bitch, either.
Beautiful roads, nice twisties and a little Redmond rebellion. Approximately 4-5 hours riding. Come early for breakfast starting at 9:30, pegs up at 11:00. This is a moderate ride.

The R-IDES of MARCH VIII – a charity ride I have put together for 8 years now (I think) placed as close to the 15th of March (the “ides” ) as possible. All proceeds are sent to Riders for Health.
For information on why donating to Riders for Health is a good idea, please visit www.riders.org. Riders for Health is supported by motorcyclists all over the world, and - due to the backgrounds and friendships of its founders – also by Formula 1, Moto GP, and SBK Superbike teams.
Entry fee is a recommended donation of $10 (more welcome1) to Riders for Health, and your donation is tax deductible.
Following registration, you’ll be given a set of route directions that are more specific than what I usually provide, and be off on an adventure for a few hours that will hopefully send you down a road or two you never knew existed.
Along the way you will be asked to pause here and there to answer questions. At the end, you hand in your answer sheet, order some fine food, and await the prize giving.
I am hoping you will receive extra encouragement from Troy Corser, multi-time SBK Superbike World Champion, BMW S1000RR rider, and Riders for Health supporter. He has this to say.
“Fellow Riders for Health enthusiasts, I wish you the best as you undertake the challenge of R-Ides of March VIII. I will be riding with you in spirit!’
Troy Corser

If you consider yourself a fast off-pavement rider, you're invited to join me as I complete my "work". Every spring I head for the hills to make the necessary changes to GripTwister's self-guided Olympics Loop GPS Tour for the current year's new edition.
We'll mostly be on logging roads in the Olympics, but there are some gnarly 2 tracks (and less) involved as well... so unless you're a Jimmy Lewis type rider, this wouldn't be for the 1200 class bikes.
The exact starting location will be determined the Monday prior to this ride, but it will be somewhere on the East or North side of the Olympics. I'll be camping along the route on Saturday night, so if you're up for it, bring your tent and sleeping bag and ride for both days, or ride light and just ride Saturday only.
Forecast heavy and/or continuous rain will postpone the ride 1 week, but scattered showers will not.
